Biography
Ursula is a PhD student in the Plant and Microbial Biology department. Her thesis work explores the physiology and assembly of cytochrome nanowires in Geobacter sulfurreducens, with a particular focus on interactions between nanowires and the outer membrane. She did her BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Johns Hopkins studying antibiotic production in environmental Streptomyces isolates. Ursula is interested by any unusual microbes or fungi and loves to spend her free time exploring the outdoors, cooking, and going on Wikipedia deep dives.
