Komal Joshi

PhD candidate

Komal grew up in Central India. She attended National Institute of Technology Raipur and earned B.Tech in Biotechnology Engineering before moving to Minnesota to attend master's program in Microbial Engineering. She loved Minnesota so much that she decided to brace Minnesota winters to continue her studies in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics PhD program. Now she is cold adapted. She worked on a lot of different projects in Bond Lab; her thesis project focuses on how bacteria senses changing redox environments and shifts electronic gears to thrive. From only knowing how to break things to now trying to fix things, she has come a long way. She loves sleeping and hates chewing. She is so homesick that she wants teleportation to be real (It is okay to never grow up!)
